Long before it was a speakeasy in the 1920s; Native Americans, Confederate soldiers, and outlaws used Longhorn Cavern. Nowadays, lucky tourists are able to explore the caves in a variety of different ways.

Here are some available tours

Starting with the basics, Long Cavern State Park offers regular guided tours everyday where you can learn all about the geological and human history. On this tour you’ll encounter mysterious formations like the Queen’s Watch Dog. Popular among kids, the origin behind it’s formation is quite intriguing and up for debate.

If claustrophobia is no fear of yours, then embark on the Wild Cave Tour for a more behind-the-scenes look at Longhorn Cavern. Note that pants are required for the tour, as you’ll be crawling and squeezing your way through small passages. Guided by staff specialists, you’ll be able to see parts of the cave unknown to the regular tours.

Do you believe in all things spooky and ghostly? Then get ready to traverse through Longhorn Cavern on their Paranormal Cave Tour. Flashlights are required, as the tour will be done in the dark night. Offered only once a month, be sure to check the available dates so you don’t miss out! This eerie tour will sure to leave you with goosebumps running down your spine.
